For appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in
possession of a
Bachelors degree in any of the following Social Science disciplines:
Social Work, Sociology. Psychology. Gender Studies. Rehabilitation
Studies. Counseling, Anthropology, Gerontology. Business Administration
Management or comparable qualification from a recognized university.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for gender and Social Development
officers.
An officer at this level will perform duties of limited scope under the
supervision of a more experienced officer. Duties and responsibilities
include:
assisting in coordinating training programmes for self help groups and
group leaders in the community;
compiling location quarterly statistical data for self-help projects;
assisting the local communities and self-help groups to identify their
felt needs;
assisting in developing a Data Bank for Gender and Social
Development projects and programmes in the location/Division; and
assisting in mobilizing local communities to effectively implement their
projects.
