Kenya with services to Uganda and Tanzania

*Undertake situation analysis of MNH in respective countries, promote exchange of best practices in policy and guideline development, implementation and monitoring of High Impact MNH activities within the sub-region

*Provide focused Technical support requested by the Uganda and Tanzania Offices through the regional office

*Identify bottlenecks in MNH services uptake, prioritise policy and programme options,

KCO level

*Collect and analyse data for project planning, management, monitoring and evaluation purposes. Analyze programme implementation reports and evaluates against established programme recommendations and plans of action

*Provides TA to MoPHS towards implementation of High Impact MNH Interventions defined at the Nakuru National Conference;

*Coordinate implementation of the Maternal Death Reviews processes as an opportunity to enhance focused assistance to health facilities, districts, and provinces contributing disproportionately to MMR.

*Take active role and responsibility in the coordination and development of the sectoral work plan and technical decisions. Undertake joint field visits to monitor programmes and conduct programme review with MoPHS and other partners. *Identify problems or alternative courses of action to accelerate/improve programme delivery.

*Participates in national level TWG meetings, facilitate semi-annual and annual national MNH review meetings and undertake other tasks assigned by the Chief of Health

Qualifications

Potential consultant must have a basic degree in either Medicine or Nursing, and a post graduate degree in Public Health. An additional post graduate degree in either Obstetrics and Gynaecology, or Paediatrics will be useful. At least five years of experience in public health programming at specialist or managerial level in a national or International capacity will be an added advantage.
